About the Job

HydroChemPSC is seeking a skilled Class A or B CDL Truck Driver to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial trucking and be able to safely operate equipment in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect loads to ensure secure cargo
  • Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service
  • Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, and damage
  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and services
  • Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons to transport and deliver products
  • Check load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Read bills of lading to determine assignment details
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources
  • Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes
  • Couple or uncouple trailers
  • Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks
  • Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes
  • Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, phones, or GPS equipment
  • Load or unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials
  • Labels, marks, and manifests shipments in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Remove debris from loaded trailers
  • Follow special cargo-related procedures
  • Inventory and inspect goods to be moved
  • Install or remove special equipment
  • Operate idle reduction systems or auxiliary power systems
Working Environment

The ideal candidate will be able to work in an industrial setting, including refineries, petro-chemical plants, utilities, pulp and paper mills, and other similar environments.

Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of verifiable service within the commercial trucking industry
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes
  • Knowledge of the English language, including grammar and composition
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge in the operation of equipment used in commercial transportation
  • CDL Class A with X endorsement and an acceptable driving record
  • Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device
  • Complete understanding of DOTs safety program & standards
  • Possess excellent communications and human relations skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting transportation equipment is preferred
