About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at the Port of Seattle. As a key member of our ICT Enterprise Infrastructr Svc department, you will play a crucial role in designing, installing, and maintaining our cable systems infrastructure.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in telecommunications infrastructure engineering, with experience in analyzing project requirements, developing technical specifications, and reviewing plans and diagrams to ensure that cable systems meet our communication standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cable systems infrastructure for various projects
  • Analyze project requirements and develop technical specifications
  • Review plans and diagrams to ensure compliance with our communication standards
  • Collaborate with design contractors, cable installers, local carriers, and internal departments to ensure alignment with our cable infrastructure strategy
  • Provide technical direction to communication architects and interface with them to provide guidance on port communication standards
  • Review construction drawings and provide comments as needed
  • Critically review all project designs
  • Consult with project teams and other departments to define business requirements, develop strategies, select technology solutions, develop communication cable architectures, and implement systems
  • Provide support for IT physical layer to all tenants in their wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN) architecture and provide horizontal and backbone copper/fiber passive cross connects
  • Maintain records through daily work order tracking and documenting utilizing our cable management system
