Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. No weekends or holidays.
Key Responsibilities for the Cardiology Nurse Lead include:
- Overseeing daily clinical operations, workflow, and productivity while training outpatient clinical team members and informing management of any issues that arise.
- Staying updated on outpatient best practices to serve as a resource for team members and enhance their skills and service quality.
- Integrating education into patient care delivery, advocating for patients' rights, and identifying potential conflicts.
This role is situated within a dynamic service line, contributing to a growing practice. The Inova Cardiology team consists of board-certified physicians, surgeons, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and medical assistants committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive clinical care.
The Lead Outpatient Registered Nurse will assist in the formulation and execution of strategic policies and procedures. Acting as a clinical authority and team leader, this role requires effective communication and collaboration with all clinical staff in the outpatient setting. It is essential to respect and understand various clinical disciplines while employing an integrated approach to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Lead Outpatient RN will take responsibility for personal development through lifelong learning and will guide others in their practice. This position also involves serving as a resource, preceptor, and mentor while demonstrating leadership in decision-making and problem-solving.
Requirements:
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, with over one year of experience in cardiology nursing preferred, including backgrounds in IMCU, PCU, Tele, or CVICU.
Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
Certification: BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Provider certification are mandatory.
Licensure: Must hold a valid RN license or be eligible to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
