As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. About the Role

The Host/Hostess will be responsible for:

  • Welcoming guests and ensuring a smooth arrival and departure experience
  • Managing reservations and scheduling software to ensure expert service to guests with allergies and restrictions
  • Participating in daily line-ups and staff meetings to develop ideas and objectives with the service team
  • Working in an organized and clean fashion to maintain a high level of service standards
  • Inspecting the cleanliness of the dining room and private dining rooms, making necessary improvements as needed
  • Developing a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients, and what is unavailable for the day
  • Communicating effectively with the F+B and Culinary teams to ensure all guests receive their food as ordered in a timely fashion
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest service and a love for restaurants
  • A minimum of one year experience as a Host in either a free-standing or hotel restaurant
  • Experience with taking, making, and executing reservations in a reservation platform
  • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • A conversational level of fluency in English, both verbally and written
  • The ability to stand, walk, and negotiate varying surfaces for a majority of a five to eight hour shift
  • The ability to lift and/or carry up to a 30 lb. tray, crate, or box occasionally
  • The ability to use hand and elbow movements for polishing glassware, silver, setting up tables, pouring, and delivering beverages
  • Excellent sight and balance needed for negotiating varied floor surfaces
  • The ability to handle lit candles and hot liquids (coffee and tea)
  • Ability to work in a dog-friendly work environment
