About the Role

This position is a key member of the culinary team, reporting directly to the Senior Culinary Team Leader in the main dining location. The Culinary Team Leader is responsible for supervising a culinary and student staff through food preparation, set-up, and service of meals and catered events for students, staff, and customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to maintain accurate food production and inventory control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise culinary and student staff in food preparation, set-up, and service of meals and catered events
  • Assist with training staff in all aspects of cooking, preparing, and cleaning
  • Order and manage inventory of food products
  • Maintain accurate food production and inventory control systems
  • Ensure compliance with standardized sanitation and safety practices
  • Perform other similar or related duties as required or requested

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or related field highly preferred
  • Five years' prior experience in supervising a culinary staff for large volume dining and catered events required
  • Certification in Food Safety and Sanitation required
  • Experience and training in special allergy meal preparation
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills with excellent communication and customer service
  • Technical knowledge and experience in Food Service Management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office necessary
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance
