Pediatric Hematology Oncology Inpatient Opportunity

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Hematology Oncology Advanced Practice Provider to join our team. As a key member of our pediatric hematology oncology inpatient service, you will be responsible for the daily management of assigned patients, including general hematology-oncologic patients, such as those admitted to receive chemotherapy, fever and neutropenia, sickle cell pain crisis, or those requiring a stem cell transplant.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations, including psychological status.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate patient plans of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results.
  • Provide relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures.
  • Collaborate in research projects and protocols, and apply evidence-based best practices to patient care.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in nursing, with documentation of completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
  • Graduate of a Master's degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Licensure as a Pediatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Texas State Board of Nursing, with authorization for prescriptive authority.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
