Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ordnance Coordinator II to join our team at Blue Origin. This role will be responsible for leading the New Glenn Launch Operations and Orbital Launch Site ordnance systems management, as well as developing and executing ordnance operations for Launch Operations at the launch site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ordnance Inventory Management
    • Manage the New Glenn Launch Operations Ordnance inventory, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Track ordnance items from suppliers, arrange delivery and receipt, and maintain a master ordnance list.
    • Schedule service life testing and arrange ordnance shipments for testing, offsite work, and VAFB.
    • Coordinate ordnance receipt, storage, and delivery with Ordnance Services (Magazines).
    • Monitor ordnance lot status and testing, and track industry notifications for similar ordnance systems.
  • Project Management
    • Manage assigned projects, including project planning, development, and change management.
    • Input to budget development and updating, and clearly define assigned project deliverables to the Launch Execution Director.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Provide strong leadership and support within the organization, focusing on problem-solving and eliminating repeat issues.
    • Work with Managers within Operations to support and provide input into the Strategy, Master Schedules, and Plans.
  • Training and Development
    • Review and provide input to ordnance operations training materials for inclusion into the Blue Learning Management System.
    • Provide training on explosives safety and handling on a regular basis.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Obtain BATF employee possessor certification and State of Florida User License or Blasters Permit.
    • Oversight of inventory and movement of explosives and/or energetic materials.
Requirements
  • 5 or more years of work experience with ordnance operations and inventory control.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present Blue Origin to customers in both written and personal meeting scenarios.
  • Experience with developing and executing launch operations procedures.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation to gain access to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
  • Knowledge of BATF regulations.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving environment and be able to demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to represent the company internally and externally in a highly professional and credible manner.
  • Able to work full-time schedule, overtime, on-call nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience working with the requirements of AFMAN and DESR M.
  • Position requires: lifting (50lbs), climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying, and standing for extended periods (8 hours min.).
  • Able to work in harsh climate environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
