Job Title: Disaster Response Specialist

About the Role:
A challenging opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Disaster Response Specialist to join our team. As part of our partnership with Harris County, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness. This position involves conducting home visits in diverse settings, including high-risk areas, shelters, and homeless encampments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and eligibility for government grant programs.
  • Manage a caseload that may include individuals with mental health issues, criminal backgrounds, substance abuse challenges, and youth who have aged out of foster care.
  • Apply information effectively to support clients and maintain healthy professional boundaries.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience with HMIS systems is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Strong skills in conflict resolution, teamwork, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficient in time management, decision-making, and communication.
  • Skilled in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) and data entry.

Salary Information:
The estimated salary range for this position is between $45,000 and $60,000 per annum, depending on experience. This competitive salary reflects the importance of this role in addressing the complex needs of vulnerable populations.
