The Mammography Specialist is responsible for executing high-quality mammographic imaging procedures, adhering to state licensure regulations at a proficient technical and professional level without the need for direct oversight.

This role involves thorough patient assessments and the application of appropriate technical parameters to ensure optimal diagnostic image production.

Qualifications:
  • Current ARRT RT(R) credential is mandatory.
  • Unencumbered Oregon license in Radiologic Technology is required.
  • ARRT Post Primary Certification in Mammography must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS certification is essential.
  • Preferred: Completion of at least 200 documented mammograms in the previous calendar year.
  • Experience in a hospital environment is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

Adaptability and Flexibility: Understanding of age-related differences in patient care and communication. Ability to respond effectively to urgent situations and adapt to provide the best care.

Communication Skills: Proficient in both written and verbal communication, capable of explaining complex issues and facilitating information exchange among team members.
