Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care by delivering personalized meal experiences. As a member of our caregiving team, you will work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, helping patients make informed menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and satisfaction will ensure that meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure patient orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
  • Work with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
  • Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient's menu selection in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, and adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies.
  • Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines when handling food, cleaning workstations, and breaking down patient tray lines.
  • Assist dietitians with tasks such as monitoring patients who cannot eat food through their mouth, are on liquid diets, or have specific calorie counts to manage.
  • Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.
  • Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.
