Your role will require effective communication and collaborative partnership within a team setting, which includes regular interactions with private landowners, legal representatives, other operators, co-owners, and various governmental agencies at local, state, and federal levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate strategic agreements for the acquisition, exchange, and/or divestment of both undeveloped and developed leasehold interests.
  • Draft and review intricate oil and gas contracts pertaining to undeveloped and developed leasehold.
  • Collaborate with legal advisors and Land brokers to ensure title clearance for drilling and division order requirements.
  • Oversee and manage oil and gas contracts to ensure adherence to terms, corporate policies, legal standards, ethical practices, and industry norms.
  • Engage in the writing, negotiation, and review of contracts while managing related matters to ensure precision and compliance with corporate policies, legal standards, ethical practices, and industry norms.
  • Prepare and submit various filings at state and federal levels, including Communitization Agreements, annual development plans, commercial well filings, location exceptions, and commingling applications, while representing the company at state hearings.
  • Act as a representative of ConocoPhillips in dealings with external operators, co-owners, private landowners, and relevant government entities as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer other than the current one.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, a related business field, or a relevant technical discipline, or its foreign equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Land Negotiator in the oil and gas sector.
  • At least 1 year of in-house Land Negotiator experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft O365 applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Energy Management, Energy Commerce, or a related discipline, or its foreign equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience with various software tools utilized for Land functions (e.g., Quorum, ArcGIS, Enverus, etc.).
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in project planning, acquisition economics, commercial evaluation, and various deal structures.
  • Ability to independently solve complex problems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Proven skills in knowledge sharing and mentorship.
  • Capability to clearly communicate accurate Land recommendations to management while anticipating potential issues and inquiries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive in driving positive performance and achieving results.
  • Ability to respond effectively to challenges and demands.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on seeking improvement opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
