GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Luxury Beauty Consultant for Lancôme (LBC Lancôme) is tasked with optimizing sales for the Lancôme brand (encompassing color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance) by engaging customers to identify their unique needs, assisting them in selecting and purchasing products, and upholding overall store standards, including cleanliness and inventory replenishment. They embody the image, products, and ethos of Ulta Beauty and the Lancôme brand to the Ulta Beauty clientele and support the Experience Manager (EM) through a focus on performance (service/retail sales and in-store events), people (customer service and team culture), and process (operational procedures and compliance standards). This role demands a passion for the beauty sector, outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to learn and convey product knowledge effectively.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Job Functions)

The LBC - Lancôme is a champion of Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values, and should consistently demonstrate them by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):

Performance

  • Achieve or surpass Lancôme brand sales and client engagement targets while contributing to the store's overall goals related to retail and service sales, customer loyalty (including credit), omni-channel engagement, and retail shrink as established by Ulta Beauty.
  • Ensure that every customer receives exceptional service by welcoming and engaging each guest, personalizing their experience, offering samples, and suggesting complementary products and/or services.
  • Conduct makeup applications, skincare assessments, and product demonstrations with customers.
  • Stay updated on available prestige training to enhance category performance.
  • Schedule appointments for and assist in executing services and in-store events that provide an unparalleled customer experience while achieving sales objectives for the Lancôme brand and the store.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and actively engage with a growing customer base for Lancôme brand sales by connecting with existing clients, maintaining contact with a growing preferred customer list, and following up on customer inquiries. Inform all guests about current promotions, events, and services within the store.
  • Proactively stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services during work hours, and be knowledgeable about the ingredients and benefits of these trends, products, and services to better assist customers.
  • Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.

People

  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere that supports teammates, peers, and the internal and external customers served.
  • Share the advantages of the customer loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests on the sales floor.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Lancôme brand partners through participation in required training and the execution of in-store events and promotions.
  • Collaborate with managers and associates throughout the store to drive business growth.
  • Regularly engage in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to enable continuous professional development and enhance Lancôme brand sales performance.

Process

  • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Adhere to the Ulta Beauty and Lancôme brand dress code, including wearing brand assets as directed.
  • Maintain exceptional store operational standards, including cleanliness of the Lancôme brand area, testers, and demonstration stations, as well as any additional assigned areas, including the sales floor, restrooms, cash wrap, backroom, and break area.
  • Participate in completing merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory procedures, and processing shipments.
  • Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Execute other operational tasks as directed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma is preferred.
  • Cosmetology or demonstrator license where required by state law.

Experience

  • Experience in cosmetics artistry is preferred.

Skills

  • Demonstrates significant competency in sales, products, and service.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to positively and proactively address customer concerns and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekdays, and holidays.
  • Attend brand-sponsored training sessions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent mobility during shifts.
  • Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting during shifts.
  • Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs. during shifts.
  • Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shifts.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 / Hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
