Barnes Inc. is seeking a highly skilled CMM Operator to join our manufacturing operations team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our aerospace parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a full spectrum of dimensional inspections of parts involving close tolerances and ensure compliance with all applicable drawings and technical data.
  • Conduct incoming, layout, first piece, in-process, and final inspections of aerospace parts to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Operate computerized measuring equipment and train and assist other inspectors as required.
  • Develop concise documentation that meets the requirements of the organization, customer, and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with the Quality, Engineering, and Tooling teams to develop gage concepts during program development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of layout inspection experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a parts manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in CMM operation and programming.
  • Working knowledge of measuring instruments, including micrometers, verniers, swing, snap, and dial gauges.
  • Ability to read and understand part drawings, internal process instructions, and technical data.
  • Proficient in the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Compliance with general attendance standards.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Additional technical training or education desirable.
