Summary:

Accountable for utilizing sonography technology to generate high-quality diagnostic echocardiograms, ensuring superior patient care. Typically operates under the guidance of or in collaboration with a more experienced Sonographer or attending cardiologist.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts inpatient and outpatient cardiac sonograms following the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) standards for digital image capture.
  • Responsible for executing and archiving calculations for the documentation of all pediatric ultrasound imaging.
  • Completes assessments on new patients in accordance with ASE guidelines for congenital heart conditions; downloads studies and provides calculations for reports as per standards.
  • Aids in performing Transesophageal Echocardiograms.
  • Supports Research initiatives when applicable.
  • Must obtain Pediatric Echo certification from ARDMS or CCI within the first year of employment.
WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
EDUCATION

  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certification in one of the following: Fetal, Adult, Vascular preferred.
  • Certification in Pediatric preferred.
  • Must achieve Pediatric Echo certification from ARDMS or CCI within 24 months of employment (ARDMS preferred over CCI) required.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as mandated by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements required.
