Operational Technology Analyst

Position Overview
This entry-level role involves assisting in the design, construction, and maintenance of AES Clean Energy, Energy Management, SCADA, Telecommunications, and various technology systems that oversee and manage renewable energy generation assets. These systems are vital for the effective operation of the electrical grid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the configuration, installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of servers, storage solutions, network devices, and software to ensure the dependable functioning of the power grid.
- Participate in on-call rotations as a member of the Operational Technology support team, addressing issues such as resetting remote services and servers, managing user access, and troubleshooting connectivity problems.
- Assist in the operation of systems that function continuously, serving various teams including Generation field, engineering, planning, reporting, and dispatch.
- Collaborate with users to leverage technology for enhancing business processes, safeguarding significant assets, and improving customer service.
- Engage with colleagues, vendors, and representatives from other organizations to gather and share information, advise on projects, resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, coordinate activities, and complete projects within set timelines and budgets.
- Create and maintain diagrams and documentation for current and future IT configurations.
- Evaluate new products and services from vendors to determine their relevance to hardware, software, networks, and other systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and procedures, while actively enforcing AES Cybersecurity standards and maintaining NERC CIP compliance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience in designing and implementing virtual environments and understanding network fundamentals.
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and overall technology.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.
- Availability for on-call support one week per month for 24/7 operations.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in operational technology is preferred.
- Ability to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with VMWare.
- Experience with Windows server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of networking design, including VLANs and subnetting.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to logically work through issues based on prior experience.
- Capability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including steel-toe boots and hard hats.
