Position Overview: The Research Engineer will collaborate closely with a Senior Research Engineer or Research Manager, engaging in a variety of projects that require a Master's degree in engineering, particularly with a focus on structural engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize established engineering methodologies to address defined challenges and contribute to specific segments of larger projects, receiving technical guidance from seasoned engineers.
  • Implement standard practices in structural testing, analyze data, identify inconsistencies, and follow detailed procedures throughout the testing process.
  • Enhance practices based on insights gained from smaller projects, conducting experiments in both laboratory and field settings, while meticulously recording measurements and observations.
  • Compile and present findings for reports and presentations, contributing valuable data to the team.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve organizational objectives, sharing innovative ideas to enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct small-scale load tests independently and assist in larger structural load testing initiatives.
  • Participate in the compilation of results, which may involve creating visual representations of data, drafting test assembly designs, and documenting procedures.
  • Oversee the activities of technical staff on assigned projects, providing guidance as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of structural engineering principles, with a commitment to ongoing professional development in cold-formed steel behavior.
  • Ability to work autonomously on assigned tasks, with supervisors providing oversight on complex issues.

Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year of experience in civil structural testing or analytical investigation of cold-formed steel behavior, which may include relevant academic experience.

Analytical Skills:

  • Proficient in analyzing complex data derived from testing or analytical processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to stand for extended periods and lift weights up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:
