TIG Welding Specialist

Position Summary:

The TIG Welder is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal components using advanced welding techniques. This role requires interpreting technical drawings and specifications to select the appropriate welding methods. The welder will conduct inspections of completed welds to ensure structural integrity and compliance with safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Position is safety-sensitive.
• Expertise in stainless steel TIG welding.
• Weld metal components on a production line utilizing welding equipment.
• Connect and manage hoses to release fuel gas and oxygen for welding operations.
• Insert welding rods into the appropriate holders.
• Guide the welding torch along designated weld lines to manipulate and fuse metal.
• Repair malformations in metal parts and eliminate imperfections.
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.
• Assist other departments as required.
• Complete additional tasks as directed by the Shop Supervisor.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

• Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality assurance, and cost management.
• Familiarity with design techniques and tools for creating blueprints and models.
• Proficient in the operation and maintenance of welding machines and tools.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Basic mathematical proficiency.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues and suppliers.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• At least one year of relevant experience.
• Preferred: Post-secondary certification in welding or related fields.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands for this position include the ability to communicate effectively, prolonged periods of standing and walking, and the capacity to lift and carry objects weighing up to 45 pounds. The role may also require frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching, as well as good hand-eye coordination.

Work Environment: The work environment is primarily on the manufacturing floor, where exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, and varying weather conditions may occur. The noise level is typically moderate.
