Music Educator and Band Director

The successful candidate will have:
- A valid teaching certificate licensing them to teach in the specialization and grade levels;
- Criminal background check conducted as per relevant regulations;
- Qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a;
In return, we offer a competitive salary package, commensurate with experience and education level, plus benefits equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. The estimated annual salary range for this position is $55,000-$85,000, based on location and industry standards.

Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Music Educator and Band Director, your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing lesson plans that meet state and district curriculum requirements;
- Using technology to enhance the teaching-learning process;
- Delivering rigorous instruction to all students;
- Preparing lessons that accommodate different learning styles;
- Presenting subject matter according to established guidelines;
- Conducting assessments to support school-wide academic goals;
- Collaborating with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed;
- Working with staff to determine instructional goals and methods;
- Supervising teacher aides and volunteers;
- Analyzing and improving student study methods and habits;
- Conducting ongoing assessments through formative and informative testing;
- Assuming responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned;
- Maintaining a positive role model for students;
- Supporting the mission of the school district;
- Creating a classroom environment conducive to learning;
- Managing student behavior according to established policies;
- Taking necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities;
- Establishing and maintaining open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers;
- Maintaining a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members;
- Using effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly;
- Participating in staff development activities to improve Standards of Practice;
- Keeping informed and complying with state, district, and school regulations and policies;
- Compiling, maintaining, and filing reports, records, and other documents required;
- Attending and participating in faculty meetings and serving on staff committees as required;
- Adhering to Employee Code of Conduct as outlined in Morgan County School's Policy 3210;
- Performing other duties deemed appropriate and assigned by the Superintendent and/or immediate supervisor(s).
