Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Akumin Operating Corp. in Bellingham, WA. This is a PRN position that requires flexibility and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, and radiation safety regulations.
- Produces high-quality diagnostic images using PET/CT technology.
- Effectively communicates with customers and radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatments.
- Trains new technologists and PC's to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
- Troubleshoots scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
- State license, as required.
- CPR certification required.
- Valid state driver's license, as applicable.
- 1-2 years' experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred.
- Ability to work at multiple locations.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport. The employee will be exposed to radioactive isotopes and ionizing radiation. May be exposed to radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
More than 50% of the time: Sit, stand, walk. Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs. See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.
Less than 50% of the time: Stoop, kneel, or crawl. Climb and balance. Carry and lift non-ambulatory patients for transfer or examination.

Note that this range is an average and may vary based on individual circumstances, including skills, experience, certifications, and organizational needs.
