The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Junior IT Security Auditor to join our team in ensuring the security and integrity of our technology environment.

About the Role

This position involves conducting risk-based IT security audits for state agencies using our Centralized IT Security Audit Service. As a Junior IT Security Auditor, you will have the opportunity to learn about and support various operations within the commonwealth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough IT security audits to identify vulnerabilities and risks
  • Analyze audit evidence to draw appropriate conclusions and recommendations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement security measures and improve overall security posture
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) and/or International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing Standards (Red Book)
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highest levels of integrity and a results-oriented work style
  • Prior job experience as an Auditor, preferably an IT Auditor, is highly desirable
