Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and coordination of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' health status and provide therapeutic nursing care to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Coordinate staffing and patient care activities to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Facilitate admissions and transfers, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
  • Implement medical staff orders and nursing interventions to promote patient safety and well-being.
  • Ensure patient rights and dignity are respected and protected at all times.
  • Participate in training and education programs to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of nursing standards and practices, with a focus on patient-centered care.
  • Familiarity with departmental policies and regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Supervisory and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Ability to perform CPR, manage aggression, and handle emergencies with confidence and composure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Critical thinking and sound judgment capabilities, with the ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
