Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring the nursing process is followed from admission to discharge.
- Delegate tasks effectively to support staff and direct care to meet patient needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to the programs in Maryland.
- Current licensure as an RN in the state of Maryland.
- Successful completion of a refresher course within the past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years.
- Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care.
- ACLS Provider Completion within 1 year of employment in designated departments.
- PALS Completion within 1 year of employment in designated departments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with patient families, departmental units, medical and nursing staff.
- Maintains updated hospital safety and other mandatory training.
- Updated immunizations as recommended per practice area.
