Role Overview:

The Cybersecurity Compliance Auditor plays a crucial role in supporting the Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Program. This position involves conducting compliance reviews and assessments related to cyber and physical security for utility industry stakeholders that may pose risks to the Bulk Electric System, in alignment with the NERC CIP Standards.

*Position level will be determined based on experience, skills, and knowledge

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Execute daily tasks related to the completion of Compliance Monitoring Processes (CMPs), including on-site, off-site, and spot check audits of the NERC CIP Standards.
  2. Assist audit teams in conducting CIP Compliance Audits following the established ReliabilityFirst Audit Processes.
  3. Fulfill the responsibilities of Team Lead or Audit Team Lead (ATL), serving as the primary contact for audits, coordinating pre-audit, onsite, and offsite reviews. This includes facilitating opening and closing meetings, completing ATL Checklists, final reports, and potential violation summary forms, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of documentation to all necessary parties.
  4. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on CIP Standards and related issues concerning the security, reliability, and resilience of cyber systems supporting the Bulk Electric System operations.
  5. Contribute effectively as part of a team of SMEs in the regulatory oversight process.
  6. Provide substantial technical support to non-technical departments.
  7. Be prepared to travel approximately 30% of the time.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Security, Computer or Systems Engineering, or a related technical field with 2 - 6 years of relevant experience, or no degree with at least 6 years of related experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential duties required.
  2. Fundamental knowledge of information technology, information security, and/or EMS operations.
  3. Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
  4. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in IT auditing, security controls, and/or internal controls.
  2. Familiarity with the Bulk Electric System and associated technologies.
  3. Understanding of NERC CIP Standards.
  4. Relevant certifications in Cyber Security (e.g., CISA, CISSP, GIAC, CISM, PE license, regulatory experience, and/or auditor certification).
  5. Recent experience (within the last 2-3 years) in managing or implementing cybersecurity controls in a corporate setting.
  6. Experience in configuration management, IT networking, systems engineering, security architecture, security engineering, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and/or information security auditing.
  7. Experience in developing or managing procurement processes and controls for acquiring assets, systems, or services from vendors.
  8. Working knowledge of operations or planning within the Bulk Electric System and related technologies.
