The position supports engineering teams by creating rough modeling fixtures and ensuring compliance with safety standards and certifications. Collaboration with supervisors, technicians, and engineers is essential.
  • Interpreting blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Working alongside engineering teams to propose design enhancements.
  • Providing guidance and training to junior technicians as necessary.
  • Communicating effectively with management and clients to clarify requirements, resolve complex design issues, and offer solutions to manufacturing challenges.
  • Identifying and addressing safety concerns and conducting independent evaluations of equipment to prevent failures.
  • Performing routine inspections of fabrication tools as needed.
  • Assisting in the upkeep of mechanical systems including pumps and hydraulic/pneumatic configurations.
  • Supporting maintenance and troubleshooting of fabrication machinery such as drill presses and welders.
  • Executing preventative maintenance tasks on various equipment as directed.
  • Guiding lower-level maintenance personnel.
  • Demonstrating self-motivation and strong organizational skills essential for success in this position.

  • Providing expertise in material properties and engineering techniques.
  • Occasionally liaising with suppliers and clients to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Assisting with load testing and fitting adjustments.
  • Using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Solving complex geometrical problems to ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Employing various welding techniques including TIG, MIG, and Stick welding.
  • Understanding welding materials and settings.
  • Structurally welding metals of varying thicknesses.
  • Constructing fixtures and vessels from stainless steel.
  • Occasional pipe welding for medium pressure applications.
  • Participating in root cause analysis with maintenance teams.
  • Working with sensitive materials that require careful handling.
  • Aligning various components accurately.
  • Familiarizing with safety procedures and material safety data sheets.
  • Adhering to lockout/tagout protocols and using personal protective equipment as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least six years of experience in welding, machining, or fabrication, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Certification in structural welding or other relevant certifications.
Additional Information:
  • Applicants must pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening.
  • A valid Driver's License may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain necessary facility credentials.
  • Ability to secure a security access badge may be required.
  • This position may involve various shifts and weekend work.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Frequent climbing of ladders and stairs.
  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, and kneel repeatedly.
  • Ability to move in various directions throughout the shift.
  • Regular walking throughout the facility.
  • Use of approved utility knives.
  • Ability to distinguish colors for wire coding.
  • Some tasks may require repetitive wrist movements.
  • Professional interaction with clients, even in stressful situations.
