Job Title: Generator Technician

Bay City Electric Works is seeking a skilled Generator Technician to join our team in the Greater Los Angeles/Inland Empire region. As a Generator Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining industrial and larger residential generators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular maintenance and diagnostic procedures on generators of all sizes
  • Conduct load bank testing and perform generator preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Document all tests and findings from 85-point inspections to provide feedback to customers
  • Assist other technicians, train junior team members, and learn from more experienced technicians
  • Provide end-user training on how to operate equipment
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 18 months experience working as a Generator Service Technician
  • Knowledge of generator control systems preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to meet deadlines and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to maintain a driving record capable of maintaining a Class C license; Class A or B license is a plus, but not required
  • Willing to travel, sometimes overnight or for week-long factory training
  • Computer literate in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Flexible team player
