Job Title: Senior Real Estate Appraiser

At Newmark, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Real Estate Appraiser to join our team. As a Senior Appraiser, you will be responsible for appraising real estate properties independently for various purposes, including dispute resolution, mortgage underwriting, acquisition/disposition, portfolio analysis, and estate purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare complete appraisal reports independently on complex properties, collaborating with senior staff and reviewing reports.
  • Conduct thorough appraisals, examining and evaluating commercial properties to establish market value.
  • Make independent decisions and provide judgment in the development of the appraisal for complex properties.
  • Inspect properties and complete formal review responses with guidance from senior staff members.
  • Engage directly in client meetings and complete formal rebuttal letters.
  • Maintain knowledge of current government regulations, zoning laws, and appraisal standards.
  • Understand necessary software programs used in the business and maintain familiarity with data sources.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in real estate or related subjects, with a preference for MS or MBA in real estate.
  • State-appropriate Certified General Appraiser License.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser.
  • Experience and skills in writing appraisal and appraisal reviews of complex commercial properties.
  • Solid understanding of real property valuation concepts, commercial real estate terminology, and property tax jurisdictional processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Argus required.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, as well as strong communication skills with clients and market participants.
