Job Overview

Salary: $22 per hour
Integrated Environmental Solutions, LLC (IES) is actively seeking to hire multiple archeological field technicians to support various projects across multiple states. IES is currently engaged in surveying a significant area for a federal agency and is preparing to initiate a major project related to fiber optic infrastructure. Additionally, we have ongoing excavation activities at a historic site and burial ground. We have a robust pipeline of work that will keep candidates engaged for an extended period, with the potential for permanent roles for those who excel.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting pay ranges from $19.50 to $22 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Per diem will be provided based on the General Services Administration (GSA) rates for the project location.
  • Overtime compensation will be provided for hours worked beyond 40 hours per week at a rate of time and a half.
  • Single-occupancy lodging will be arranged for employees.
  • Work schedules typically consist of 10-day rotations with standard Monday through Friday hours.
  • Anticipated workdays will be 8 to 10 hours in length.
  • 401k retirement plan available after six months of employment.
Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A bachelor's degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 12 months of field experience or completion of an accredited archaeology field school.
  • Experience in conducting archaeological monitoring and surveys.
  • Proficiency in documenting sites, completing field notes, and familiarity with GPS and GIS technologies.
  • Ability to mobilize quickly for project needs.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements

The role involves the following physical demands:

  • Regular use of hands, walking, sitting, talking, listening, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Fieldwork will require hiking long distances over rugged terrain while conducting shovel tests.
  • Work may be performed in less than favorable environmental conditions.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving of items up to 50 pounds.
