What We Seek: Engage with customers at the dealership, manage incoming calls, and relay messages efficiently. Process payments from customers and staff for products and services, ensuring accurate record-keeping while performing additional clerical tasks as required. Key Responsibilities:
Welcome customers in a courteous manner.
Operate the telephone switchboard effectively.
Communicate with callers in a friendly and professional way, aiming to reduce wait times.
Take detailed messages, including the caller's full name, company (if applicable), time, and message content.
Provide basic information to callers with general inquiries.
Support the sales department cashier as needed.
Maintain a friendly, professional, and efficient demeanor when interacting with customers and colleagues.
Accurately calculate customer bills using the dealership's computer system.
Receive payments in cash, checks, and credit cards, documenting the amounts on the appropriate records.
Issue change correctly and provide receipts to customers, ensuring all transactions are signed off by the customer.
Verify and reconcile totals of transactions at the end of each shift.
Collaborate with department managers to stay informed about new products and services, as well as any pricing changes.
Direct customers with further inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
Handle customer complaints with professionalism and direct them to the relevant individual for resolution.
Process cash refunds accurately for approved returns.
Qualifications:
Proven exceptional customer service abilities.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and phone calls simultaneously.
High school diploma or GED required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience in a dealership or retail receptionist role preferred.
Availability to work evenings and weekends.
Professional appearance is essential.
