Special Education Teacher for Low Incidence Needs

Health Advocates Network is currently in search of a Special Education Teacher specializing in Low Incidence Disabilities. This role involves working with students who require tailored educational strategies to thrive academically.


These positions are classified as registry roles within our organization.


Compensation: $40 per hour

*W2 Employment


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs an educational curriculum that addresses the unique needs, interests, and capabilities of each student.
  • Establishes a supportive classroom atmosphere that fosters learning and aligns with the developmental stages of students.
  • Directs the educational process to achieve curriculum objectives and clearly communicates these goals to students.
  • Utilizes instructional techniques and resources that are best suited for achieving educational objectives.
  • Regularly evaluates student progress and provides necessary reports.
  • Identifies learning disabilities in students and documents progress accordingly.
  • Engages in regular consultations with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Assists school administration in enforcing policies and regulations regarding student behavior and classroom management.
  • Plans and oversees meaningful tasks for teaching assistants and volunteers, while also assessing their performance collaboratively with department leadership.
  • Aims to enhance and sustain professional development.
  • Participates in staff meetings and contributes to committees as needed.

Qualifications:
Must fulfill the requirements for certification from the SC State Board of Education.

Certification in one or more of the following areas is mandatory:

Special Education - Mental Disabilities
Special Education - Multi-Categorical
Special Education - Generic
Special Education - Educable Mentally Disabled
