Job Summary

  • Supervise and Coordinate Maintenance Staff: Direct and train hotel staff engaged in painting, performing structural repairs, and carrying out basic electrical and plumbing tasks and preventive maintenance.
  • Direct Ground Maintenance Activities: Direct and train hotel staff engaged in ground maintenance activities, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Oversee General Cleaning and Upkeep: Direct and train staff engaged in the general cleaning and upkeep of hotel buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing windows.
  • Inventory and Purchase Supplies: Inventories, requisitions and purchases tools, equipment, and supplies according to purchasing guidelines.
  • Inspect and Analyze Work: Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards. Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists staff in solving work problems.
  • Supervise and Perform Activities: Supervises and performs activities of maintenance department. Runs errands for supplies and drives as necessary to meet business needs.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Organizational Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills are required to effectively supervise and coordinate maintenance staff.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are necessary to interpret company policies to staff and enforce safety regulations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze and resolve work problems, or assist staff in solving work problems.
