Job Title: Gear Grinding Specialist

Spark Talent Inc is seeking a skilled Gear Grinding Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating precision gear grinding machines to grind master and precision gears.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Set up automatic dressing devices to dress wheels to specified profiles.
  • Move controls to set synchronized rotation speeds and feed rates.
  • Position and secure workpieces on mandrels between centers or in chucks, and turn handwheels to position workpieces and wheels, verifying positions with thickness gauges, dial indicators, and micrometers.
  • Turn valve handles and direct flows of coolant against wheels and workpieces.
  • Move controls to index workpieces and feed wheels to workpieces, adjusting depths of cut in parts by sight and feel.
  • Verify dimensions of ground workpieces for conformance to specifications.
  • Grind metallic materials.
  • Change worn tools and clean machines, tooling, and parts.
  • Operate bench grinders to sharpen tools.
  • Perform light machine maintenance (check oil and coolant levels).
Requirements:
  • Ability to pass a drug and background check.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, and at least two years of experience with gears and grinding tools.
  • Experience with using a variety of inspection tools.
