The Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintenance Planning & Scheduling: Develop, prioritize, and schedule maintenance activities, including preventive, predictive, and corrective tasks, while minimizing disruption to operations.
- Work Orders: Create and manage detailed work orders, ensuring all necessary parts, tools, labor, and procedures are outlined and ready for execution.
- Resource Coordination: Ensure availability of necessary resources, such as equipment, spare parts, tools, and manpower for scheduled maintenance.
- Preventive Maintenance Program: Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) program, regularly reviewing and updating schedules based on equipment performance and historical data.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinate with vendors and external contractors to ensure timely delivery of services or materials needed for maintenance tasks.
- Equipment Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all equipment, work performed, and maintenance history within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Downtime Reduction: Analyze breakdown data to identify trends and opportunities to reduce equipment downtime and improve reliability.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety, health, and environmental standards, as well as company policies.
- Budget & Cost Control: Assist in the preparation and control of the maintenance budget, tracking costs, and identifying cost saving opportunities in the maintenance process.
- Continuous Improvement: Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements in maintenance planning and execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance planning or a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and industrial equipment maintenance processes.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to use data to make informed decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
