Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail District Manager to lead our retail operations in a specific area. As a Retail District Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing the activities of all stores within your assigned area, ensuring full profit and loss responsibility while acting within the scope of company objectives and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead store teams by fostering a culture that promotes Dollar General's mission and values.
  • Ensure fair administration of human resources policies and practices.
  • Provide superior customer service through fun, friendly stores.
  • Drive area annual sales growth by meeting or exceeding company targets through quality orders and efficient flow processes.
  • Maximize performance and productivity through a commitment to sensible store scheduling.
  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and develop new business opportunities within the operational area.
  • Communicate divisional and regional priorities effectively to store teams.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated results-oriented leadership with the ability to model total development and serve as a steward of Dollar General's mission and values.
  • Financial analysis skills sufficient to interpret operating statements and other financial reporting data, manage budgets, and control inventory.
  • Ability to produce desired results by leveraging resources, maintaining tough expense control, managing merchandise effectively, and defining and communicating clear expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service and the ability to react appropriately under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four+ years of retail management experience with progressively more responsibility, managing multi-unit operations in retail, grocery, or convenience store operations with full P&L responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Note: This position requires weekly travel in a company-provided vehicle with limited overnight stays; a current driver's license and acceptable driving history is required.
