Summary: Responsible for providing nurturing care and oversight to young children, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Engages in the planning and execution of daily activities, offering classroom support and stepping in as a Teacher when necessary. - Ensure confidentiality in compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Exemplify appropriate conduct, professional boundaries, and respectful communication, adhering to the Employee Dress Code.
- Provide continuous supervision during activities that promote engagement and ensure the safety of all children.
- Recognize and address social, academic, or behavioral challenges as they arise.
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques for discipline, steering clear of negative methods.
- Collaborate with the Children's Counselor to address the treatment needs of children and share relevant information during group sessions.
- Understand and apply regulations set forth by the Department of Human Services, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Serve as a Substitute Teacher when required, implementing the daily schedule, routines, lesson plans, and activities.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities and progress.
- Design a balanced schedule that includes a mix of active and quiet activities, small group interactions, large group settings, and individualized attention.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is developmentally appropriate, considering the unique needs of each child.
- Ensure the classroom is organized, clean, safe, and conducive to learning.
- Be adaptable to varying classroom assignments and additional responsibilities based on age groups.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training programs.
- Stay informed about agency policies, procedures, and training requirements.
- Maintain necessary credentials and training for compliance with licensing standards.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisors or management.

Qualifications:
- Meet the qualifications for Assistant Teacher and Substitute Teacher as per DHS Three Star Center standards.
- Hold a current Oklahoma Professional Development Registry certification.
- Complete Early Learning Guidelines (ELG) Training.
- Possess current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
- Have a valid Oklahoma Department of Health Food Handler's Permit.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Showcase excellent interpersonal abilities.
- If required to drive a company vehicle, maintain a valid Oklahoma Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Preferred experience working with children in educational settings.
- Preferred knowledge of substance abuse, addiction, and DHS regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and remain seated for extended periods.
- Job entails various physical activities including twisting, lifting, standing, walking, stretching, kneeling, bending, and squatting.
