Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Boilermaker to join our team at Zachry Group. As a Boilermaker, you will be responsible for removing, replacing, and repairing various piping systems, working on coal-fired boiler components, and troubleshooting equipment within a coal-fired power plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Remove, replace, and repair piping systems
  • Work on coal-fired boiler components, including soot blowers, burners, and dampers
  • Troubleshoot equipment and detect minor and major issues
  • Dismantle and reassemble pumps
  • Meet all physical requirements and work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Have all required tools and reliable transportation
  • Work a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends

Requirements:

  • NCCER WRITTEN OR NCCER PLUS CERTIFICATION
  • Ability to read specifications and determine the scope of work
  • Identify safety risks and take necessary precautions
  • Fabricate equipment according to blueprints or instructions
  • Hoist equipment and tools into location via bull rigging or crane
  • Steel fabrication using torches, band saws, plasma cutter, grinders, etc.
  • Pipe and steel prep for welding procedures
  • Follow direction of supervision

Leadership Abilities:

  • Ability to perform all job duties of craft trade
  • Know when to stop work for misinformation, safety concerns, or any other reason that would create a risk
  • Drawings: ability to read basic blueprints, craft specs, and craft spec procedures
  • Rigging: knowledge of safe rigging practices, rigging components, and correct knots
  • Connection: know all aspects of connecting, pipe connection bolt ups, and valve installations
  • Fabrication: ability to read cut sheets, lay out from drawing, and cut material from lay out and cut sheets
  • Tools and knowledge: knowledge of specialty tools, welding and cutting, and equipment knowledge

Certifications and Licenses:

  • NCCER - Industrial Boilermaker

Other Position or Site Requirements:

  • Must have valid DL
