Job Description and Duties

This is a seasonal position that requires working outdoors in various weather conditions. The Senior Maintenance Aide will work under the direction of the Park Maintenance Chief II and will be responsible for providing daily support to contracted youth corps crews in project implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform heavy manual labor to restore and maintain state park resources and facilities.
  • Work outdoors in inclement weather conditions, including hot summer temperatures, cold winter conditions, and work in high altitude, desert, and coastal environments.
  • Travel statewide for extended periods of time and work nights, weekends, and odd hours as needed.
  • Provide support to contracted youth corps crews in project implementation, including trail and road construction, maintenance, and resource activities.
Requirements
  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a variety of environments, including remote locations, and may involve working in high altitude, desert, and coastal environments. The position also requires working nights, weekends, and odd hours as needed.

Special Requirements
  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
