Position Overview
As a key member of the Dallas County team, the Nutritional Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the provision of appetizing and nutritious meals to youth residents at the detention facility. This role ensures compliance with federal nutritional standards and health regulations while managing clothing, linen, and bedding supplies.

Management Responsibilities:
This position supervises a team of approximately nine (9) non-exempt staff members.

Detailed Responsibilities:
- Supervise and assess staff performance in their roles.
- Provide training to staff on their job functions.
- Conduct inventory audits and requisition necessary food items and supplies.
- Perform audits and inspections of both employees and facilities to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local standards, policies, and procedures.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience or 60 college credit hours in a related field, or a combination of both.

Essential Skills and Requirements:
- Proficient in standard software applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster effective working relationships with colleagues, departments, and the public.
- Must possess a valid Food Service Manager License.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check is mandatory.
- Candidates must undergo mandatory drug testing prior to employment and may be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing during their tenure.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- This role is conducted within a secured facility, requiring physical stamina for prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, and lifting up to 45 lbs. with assistance.
- Employees may be reassigned to different departments, shifts, locations, or facilities as needed.
- The position may involve mandatory overtime or extended shifts in a 24-hour facility.
- The incumbent may be classified as 'essential personnel' and may be required to report to work outside of regular hours when necessary.
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and meet all physical and written standards set forth by the Juvenile Academy to maintain employment.
