Position Summary:

Black Cape is in search of experienced Mid-level and Senior-level DevOps Engineers, possessing a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing production systems. We value self-motivated individuals who can adapt to new technologies and achieve objectives with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and sustain a mission-critical cloud-based system across various customer environments.
  2. Facilitate effective communication with government personnel to leverage their Software Factory.
  3. Implement the latest code and security updates to cloud systems.
  4. Adjust system configurations to ensure compatibility in clustered deployment settings.
  5. Provide insights and strategies for scaling technology components, focusing on processing and storage capabilities.
  6. Assist the engineering team in benchmarking system components.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and capability to obtain Privileged User Access (PUA) on customer systems.
  • Willingness to work onsite up to 5 days a week, with a majority of weeks being 3 days onsite.
  • Advanced proficiency in Docker and containerization technologies.
  • Experience deploying applications on container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, and Docker Swarm.
  • Proficient in Python and Bash scripting, with a solid understanding of Linux command line functions for task automation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, or Bamboo for deployment automation.
  • Experience with software provisioning tools such as Ansible or SaltStack.
  • Ability to operate and maintain systems in Linux-based environments, particularly Red Hat (RHEL).
  • CompTIA Security+ certification is highly desired or willingness to obtain it.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with a preference for AWS.
  • Experience in classified environments, with an understanding of technical limitations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within small teams.
  • Familiarity with complex accreditation and security requirements.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in the accreditation and RMF process.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with streaming data and automation systems like Kafka, NiFi, or RabbitMQ.
  • Familiarity with S3 compliant data storage solutions (AWS S3, Azure Blob, MinIO).
  • Experience with document storage technologies (Elasticsearch, MongoDB).
  • Capability to design scalable, resilient cloud-native systems supporting data processing pipelines.
  • Possession of relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or AWS certifications.
