About the Position:
Aims Community College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tutor II to join our Early College Academy team. As a Tutor II, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success of our students by providing individualized tutoring sessions and promoting a learner-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person and remote tutoring sessions for high school students, focusing on related school work and promoting active and independent learning skills.
- Develop and implement effective tutoring methodologies, communicating regularly with the tutoring supervisor to ensure student success.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of tutoring sessions, adhering to student and staff policies as determined by the Early College Academy.
- Guide students on how to develop active and independent learning skills, adapting strategies for specific learning differences.
- Attend and participate in regular one-on-one and group training sessions, staying up-to-date on current trends in tutoring practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the tutoring supervisor, ensuring a high level of student satisfaction and academic achievement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Teaching experience in a related content area, with a strong focus on interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse student population, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience tutoring in multiple subjects, with a strong ability to adapt to different learning styles.
