Job Title: Adjunct Instructor in BioAgriculture

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor in BioAgriculture to join our team at Durham Technical Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the BioAg PRO program, providing quality learning experiences for students, and working closely with the Program Director and faculty to ensure the program meets the needs of business and industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in the BioAg PRO program, including seated, online, and hybrid courses.
  • Develop and implement syllabi and instructional plans that align with course objectives.
  • Enforce academic policies and procedures, and comply with institutional rules and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate course and student records, reports, and forms.
  • Stay current with developments in agriculture and plant science.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and Curriculum Developer to ensure the program meets industry needs.
  • Collaborate with Life Sciences Career Development Specialists to coordinate career development sessions for students.
  • Learn and utilize the college's Learning Management System (Canvas) and other virtual platforms to deliver effective learning experiences.
  • Work with external stakeholders to develop course materials relevant to current trends in the region.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best teaching practices and industry trends.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education, Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Horticulture, Plant Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of agriculture or horticulture industry experience.
  • Prior agriculture or horticulture teaching experience within any North Carolina Community College is preferred.
