This role encompasses support for strategic business decisions and oversight of legal services provided by external counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

Acquisitions and Financing:


• Managing the acquisition and disposition of real estate assets.


• Overseeing loan transactions, including acquisition loans, construction financing, permanent loans, refinancing, bond financing, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit financing.


• Conducting site selection and due diligence for acquisitions.


• Reviewing environmental assessments and property reports.

Leasing and Contractual Agreements:


• Drafting term sheets and operating agreements with investors and partners.


• Negotiating development, management, and construction management service agreements.


• Handling residential, commercial, and retail leasing agreements.


• Managing third-party service and vendor contracts.


• Overseeing employment and human resources agreements.


• Ensuring compliance with insurance coverage and renewals.


• Managing tax abatement compliance and related filings.


• Drafting broker and consultant agreements.


• Handling miscellaneous agreements, including NDAs, indemnity agreements, releases, and licensing agreements.

Additional Responsibilities:


• Supervising litigation matters.


• Ensuring company compliance with existing contractual obligations.


• Assisting with responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and qualifications (RFQs).


• Supporting management in landlord-tenant legal issues.


• Acting as a liaison with governmental agencies.

Qualifications:


• Minimum of four years of experience in real estate law at a New York law firm.


• Active license to practice law in New York State.


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.


• In-depth knowledge of state and federal laws governing real property transactions.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and related software.


• Strong research capabilities.
