We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Inpatient Acute Care Physical Therapist to join our team at Lowell General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with a variety of diagnoses, utilizing a high degree of professional competency and efficiency to ensure quality patient care.
- Assess and re-assess patient pain and develop an appropriate treatment plan to assist patients in attaining maximum functional outcomes.
- Interact professionally with patients, families, physicians, and staff, involving patients and families in the formation of the plan of care and formulating a teaching plan based on identified learning, cultural, and psychosocial needs.
- Set realistic short and long-term goals and plan of care related to patients' physical therapy needs within the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems.
- Communicate clearly and appropriately to patients, families, physicians, staff, and all other customer groups.
- Supervise and educate students and evaluate their performance.
- Maintain and complete proper and timely documentation in the medical record for all patients treated to promote communication to physicians and ensure proper reimbursement.
- Contribute to the department to ensure that operations are efficient and cost-effective, adhering to billing guidelines, charges, insurance limitations, and all other departmental operations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
- Graduation from an approved school of Physical Therapy.
- Physical Therapy (PT) License.
- One (1) year of clinical experience in acute in-patient care.
