Medical Laboratory Technician I

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician I to join our team at Christus Health. As a Medical Laboratory Technician I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of laboratory results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical testing in assigned sections, including general laboratory, Blood Bank, and Microbiology, with a focus on quality control, performance improvement, and preventative maintenance.
- Recognize abnormal critical values and follow proper guidelines for notifying medical team members of results.
- Perform clerical, general, and phlebotomy duties related to daily laboratory operations.
- Provide and dispense blood products as requested by medical staff.
- Associate's degree or higher in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience.
- No experience required for graduates of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by NAACLS or other organizations approved by HHS.
- OR six months of approved clinical laboratory experience, including a clinical rotation through Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids in the U.S. or with an accredited laboratory within the last 5 years.
- Certification for MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS.
- Louisiana requires State Licensure.
