Position Overview:

As a pivotal member of the Carle Health team, the Grants Management Specialist will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of all grant-related activities. This includes the entire lifecycle of grants and contracts, from initial application through to compliance and reporting. The role demands a proactive approach to managing deadlines, researching new funding opportunities, and fostering relationships with various funding bodies.



Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience in a related field such as grant writing or business management.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Prior experience in grant management is highly desirable.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Exceptional project management capabilities with a proven track record in overseeing administrative initiatives. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are required, along with outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills. A solid understanding of the organization's objectives and the ability to navigate financial and budgeting matters is crucial. Proficiency in collaborative team environments and supporting program directors is expected. The candidate should be adept at prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality results with meticulous attention to detail. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is necessary.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of grant oversight, ensuring effective planning and execution of grant programs from application to compliance.
  • Conduct thorough research and writing for grant proposals, program design, and compliance reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Director of Finance, playing a leadership role in grant and contract management.
  • Identify potential funding sources from government, foundations, and corporate entities to support the organization's financial and operational needs.
  • Ensure adherence to funder communication protocols, including understanding grant specifications and performance objectives.
  • Support the implementation of grant requirements and performance goals through collaboration with program directors and team members.
  • Develop strategies to enhance the efficiency of the grants administration process.
  • Research and evaluate available grant opportunities to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee the development of grant proposals in coordination with program directors.
  • Ensure grant implementation aligns with the organization's operational and financial requirements.
  • Assist in organizing and executing fundraising initiatives.
  • Keep the Director of Finance updated on upcoming deadlines and deliverables to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Analyze performance trends and provide recommendations for program and cost management.
  • Coordinate the preparation of detailed programmatic reports for funders and the board of directors, reflecting the organization's progress.
  • Monitor all communications and documentation related to grant-funded initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for funders and the Board of Directors.
  • Participate in necessary meetings and training sessions relevant to the program's operation.
  • Gain proficiency in basic financial management skills, including budget development and monitoring, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Uniform Guidance Codes.
