As a vital member of our service department, the Journeyman Technician will undertake a range of maintenance and repair duties on KIA and Hyundai vehicles. Our workshop is busy, and we are looking for talented technicians to contribute to our success. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of KIA and Hyundai repair processes and demonstrate strong mechanical skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive pay ranging from $38 to $60 per hour, depending on experience and skill level

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on KIA and Hyundai vehicles, adhering to manufacturer specifications
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance services, including oil changes and brake checks
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to assess vehicle performance and electronic systems
  • Accurately complete repair orders, documenting labor hours and parts utilized
  • Maintain effective communication with service advisors regarding progress and additional repair needs
  • Stay updated on automotive technology and industry trends through ongoing training
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Assist with additional tasks as required to support the service team

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education and/or automotive certifications preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on KIA and Hyundai vehicles
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and components
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
