Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians in providing medical care to patients of various ages, adhering to professional standards and hospital policies.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, and assist with these tasks as needed.
- Administer oral and parenteral medications and immunizations as directed by supervising physicians and as permitted by state law.
- Maintain accurate medication and immunization records.
- Organize and review incoming test results, forwarding them to physicians as necessary.
- Track impending test results and follow up with patients as needed.
- Perform electrocardiography, respiratory testing, phlebotomy, and other clinical tasks as required.
- Assume responsibility for inventory management, ensuring adequate levels of clinical supplies and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with an externship.
- Medical Assistant certification from a recognized organization, such as AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, AMCA, or ARMA.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
