Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our team at Manhattan University. As a key member of our sports medicine staff, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care and support to our student-athletes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer with daily operations of the athletic training room.
  • Provide treatment and care to injured athletes, ensuring their safe return to competition.
  • Serve as liaison between team physicians, athletic administrators, and coaches to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical documentation, adhering to NCAA and institutional guidelines.
  • Assist with administering institutional drug testing programs, game/event, and practice coverage, as well as team travel.
  • Collaborate with assistant athletic trainers and supervise work-study students to ensure a high level of service and support.
  • Assist with processing secondary insurance claims and pre-participation health screens.
Requirements
  • NATABOC certification, NY State licensure, or eligibility, as well as CPR/AED certification.
  • Strong computer, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel, work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as needed, with a valid driver's license.
  • Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field, with 2-3 years of experience in college or professional sports settings.
  • Ability to lift equipment on occasion and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to problem-solve and foster positive relationships.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet specific timelines.
