Job Summary

As a Clinical Athletic Trainer at Corewell Health, you will provide professional assistance and clinical support to healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of quality, evidence-based healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patients as directed by physicians and other providers.
  • Facilitate efficient and effective patient flow through the clinic utilizing professional ability and independent judgment.
  • Evaluate patients' physical condition, response, and progress to treatment, and discuss with appropriate physicians and/or physician extenders.
  • Document care consistent with documentation guidelines and patient chargeable items/services according to standards.
  • Administer medication and injections to patients in accordance with licensure and policy.
  • Interface with student athletes, parents, physicians, athletic trainers, and auxiliary medical personnel to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts and circumstances of athletes' condition status exercising discretion and independent judgment when necessary.
  • Develop and review patient home exercise programs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment, work area, equipment, and communicate any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department/unit personnel.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in athletic training or a related field.
  • Master's Degree or equivalent in athletic training or a related field.
  • Completion of a CAATE-approved athletic training education program or educational equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in all aspects of athletic training.
Certifications and Licenses
  • CRT-Athletic Trainer, Certified - BOC Board of Certification and Accreditation.
  • LIC-Athletic Trainer License - STATE_MI State of Michigan.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross.
  • CRT-Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Certified (CSCS) - NSCA National Strength and Conditioning Association.
  • CRT-Performance Enhancement Specialization, Certified (PES) - UNKNOWN Unknown.
  • CRT-Functional Movement Screen, Certified (FMS) - UNKNOWN Unknown.
  • CRT-Kinesio Taping Practitioner, Certified (CKTP) - UNKNOWN Unknown.
