Job Summary

We are seeking a Hospice Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will provide basic personal care and homemaking services to patients in their homes, as directed by the Manager, Service Operations or RN.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient-care tasks in accordance with the plan of care, including temperature, pulse, and respiration checks, sponge, tub, shower, and bed baths, oral hygiene, nail and skin care, back rubs, and assistance with use of bedpan or urinal.
  • Assist patients with light household services, such as preparing light meals, washing dishes, dusting furniture, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Document patient care and submit documentation in accordance with policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Participate in team functions and meetings, and complete in-service education and training programs annually.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Current CNA certification required.
  • One or two years' experience as a home health/hospice aide or nurse aide preferred.
  • Completion of a home health/hospice aide training and competency-evaluation program or an in-house competency-evaluation program.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, and effectively communicate in internal and external relationships.
