Senior Medical Technologist Opportunity at Shriners Children's

Shriners Children's is a leader in pediatric specialty care, and we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Technologist to join our team in Galveston, Texas.

Job Overview

The Senior Medical Technologist will play a key role in leading the clinical lab team, providing technical leadership, and ensuring patient satisfaction, quality care, and regulatory standards are met.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-analytic and post-analytic procedures with independent judgment and responsibility
  • Provide oversight of technical laboratory operations
  • Serve as the laboratory subject matter expert for IT-related training, problem-solving, and validation
  • Develop staff and assess performance

Hours of this position are Monday to Friday, 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with minimal weekends and rotating holidays. Compensation is based on years of relevant experience and department equity, ranging from $48.67 per hour.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Medical Technology, CLS, or Science required
  • 5 years of Clinical Laboratory experience and 2 years of Management/Supervisory experience required
  • Blood Bank experience preferred
  • MLT (ASCP), MT, or Equivalent certification required
  • Med. Tech license in the state of Texas required
